About Marijke Linssen M.A.

After obtaining my master’s degree in communication science at the University of Amsterdam, I started working as an editor for television programs. Later on, I was the coach for television producers and guests who were attending talkshows. After making a documentary about men and women undergoing fertility treatment, I heard and saw there was a real need for emotional support for these men and women. I started my own practice as a coach, specialized in guiding men and women with an unfulfilled wish for children. I have developed a specialized coaching program for this target group.

My practice is called the Life Composer. Embedded in that name is the idea that I want to pass on to my clients: you compose your own piece of music with the notes you have been given in life, whether you wished for them or not. You will always be the composer, you are the one who decides the melody of your life.

Furthermore, I am the author of ‘Embracing Hope in Fertility’, a guidebook for couples during fertility treatments. This dynamic book helps couples going through their fertility treatment, together. The book is written in Dutch and translated into German and English.

Moreover, I am frequently invited as a speaker and trainer to instruct doctors and nurses working in the field of fertility.

In addition, I am the creator and co-founder of the Childwish Café, a gathering for people with an unfulfilled desire to have children, which is held at four different locations in the Netherlands. The gatherings make it possible for people in the same situation to come into contact with each other in an accessible way to talk about the issues they encounter.

There is also a personal reason. For years, I was on the medical route myself to become pregnant, and from my personal experience, I understand more than anyone else the difficulties my clients encounter when it comes to thoughts, emotions and behavior. This has proven to be a great asset in the consultations I have with my clients and in the way I am able to guide them.

What is more, I created the app FertiReady. This app makes sure that fertility patients will be well informed at the start of their treatment. Furthermore, this app helps patients go through their treatment in the best possible way, physical as well as emotional.
